What the activity is
Haka Team is a participatory workshop based on the Haka Ka Mate. The facilitators present its context, demonstrate the interpretation, and progressively teach the lyrics, rhythm, gestures, and movements. The group practices in sections and through interpretation exercises. Finally, face paint is applied, and the final Haka is performed.
How the experience feels
At first, repeating a word or gesture can elicit laughter. Gradually, the voice gains volume, movements synchronize, and the reason behind this ritual begins to take shape. The final performance concentrates all that energy into minutes of intensity, pride, and collective presence.
